Fun Way to Spend A Summer Day: First Lotus Hip-Hop Master Class

What is a better way to spend a hot Saturday afternoon than to be in a cool AC room—dancing to the latest pop songs with your friends?? Last Saturday Lotus Creations offered its first Summer Open-Level Hip-Hop Master class at the Brooklyn Arts Exchange (BAX), taught by MTV, VH1, and BET featured hip-hop artist, Jerzey—thank you to everyone that came to support! It was such a blast.

Because this was the first adult class that Lotus offered since I started working with the group, I jumped right in. After a brief warm up, Jerzey taught us a new choreography done to French Montana’s "Don't Panic", using fluid and powerful hip-hop vocabulary that captured my delighted dancing mood. I haven’t danced hip-hop since May except for occasionally jamming alone to a song in my room. I was really happy to get this chance to dance, and of course, grateful to find that I did not lose my rhythm yet!

Our dear younger class participants, do you miss dancing with Lotus yet? Don’t worry! Your chance to dance with us is coming up! Our Kids Hip-Hop Master class will be offered in two weeks on Saturday August 8—be sure to mark your calendars for it!
