Cops Doing the Nae Nae

What better way to enjoy a weekend block party in Brooklyn than to get your dance on?  With a cop no less!

In a neighborhood block party in Bedford-Stuyvesant, party-goers laughed, ate, played football, and danced to the Silento hit song "Watch me (Whip/Nae Nae)" with Officer James Ferrazzo of the 79th precinct.  Officer Ferrazzo and his fellow officers helped build necessary relationships with the Bed-Stuy community that day.  That joyous day shows the larger role that dance and cultural understanding can play in the national discussion on communication between the police departments and the communities that they serve.

Check out one of our Lotus Families doing the Nae Nae after practice last May!  Also, don't forget to register for our Kids Hip-Hop Master Class is Saturday at BAX at 1:30pm!
