Lotus Creations @ CUNY BLSA Gala

On Friday February 26th the Traveling Lotus Teens and Kids groups performed at the CUNY Black Law Student Association's (CUNY BLSA) annual gala 2016. The gala, well attended by CUNY School of Law students and professors, took place in the Vista Sky View Lounge and Penthouse of Long Island City Sheraton Hotel, and was sold out a week before.

The gala remembered the importance of raising generations of conscious lawyers of color and honored individuals that contributed to amplifying the voices of Black law students. Lotus Creations Performing Arts Inc. kicked off the evening with Jerzey's new choreography to a brand-new mash-up of pop and hip-hop songs. During the performance, teens and kids came onto and off stage in different formations as different pieces of music came up, bringing the stage alive.

This performance marked the traveling groups' third performance of the 2015-16 school year. The group has since its first performance last October expanded in size and grew to incorporate teen dancers. We are looking forward to our next performance at St. Joseph College's spring concert "You Can't Stop The Beat" in April. The concert will have a variety of styles including hip-hop, Afro-Caribbean, jazz, Bollywood and many more. It will be our first performance on a stage since the beginning of last year.
